Setup and brand
Do I really get a working platform in 4 days?
Yes, when you have the four inputs ready on day one: brand assets (logo, colour), the domain you will use, your custody wallet decision (we will help with this), and the names of your ops admins. If any of those four lag, the timeline slips by the same number of days.
Does the platform say "ShareFund" anywhere my investors see?
No. Logo, wordmark, sender name, support email, domain, and notification copy are all yours. Premium operators get zero ShareFund mentions in any investor-facing surface.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Apex (brand.com) or subdomain (invest.brand.com) both supported. We provision TLS, configure DNS records, and handle renewals.
What about a mobile app?
We provide the mobile build. You publish it from your own Play Store and App Store developer accounts, because the listing is your brand and your operator relationship with the store. We will guide the submission, but the store accounts and the review process are owned by you.
Custody and payouts
Who holds the custody wallet?
You do, always. The operator brings the wallet or the payment processor. ShareFund's software calls into your custody to display balance and to facilitate operator-initiated payouts, but ShareFund never holds, moves, or co-signs your funds. Read the full disclaimer on this.
What custody options are supported?
Three common shapes: a self-hosted crypto wallet (USDT on BEP-20 or TRC-20 are the cleanest at launch), an exchange custody account in your business name (Binance, Bybit, OKX, etc.), or a fiat payment processor under your merchant identity (Stripe, Adyen, Checkout, Razorpay, etc.). You pick whichever fits your geography and your investors' rails.
Can I take fiat deposits?
Yes, if you onboard a payment processor under your own business. The platform integrates with the processor of your choice. ShareFund does not operate any payment rails or any wallet on your behalf, so the merchant relationship and the regulatory posture is yours.
How do withdrawals work?
Investor withdrawal requests flow through sanctions screening and then your ops queue. Once an admin approves, the platform calls your custody to initiate the transfer; the actual movement of funds is signed by you (or your authorised system) on your own wallet or processor. ShareFund does not have signing authority.
Operations and admin
How big does my ops team need to be?
One person can run a small launch (a few hundred investors, one or two pools). Two to three is comfortable for a few thousand investors. Five plus once you cross ten thousand or open multiple geographies.
Can I have multiple admins with different permissions?
Yes. Roles cover member directory, KYC, settlements, withdrawals, and reports. Each admin is on email allowlist and TOTP. Every admin action is in the audit log.
Can an admin edit a wallet balance directly?
No. The ledger is append-only by design. Adjustments are new ledger rows with a reason and an actor. This is the same protection that keeps investors safe and keeps operators above suspicion.
What happens if a daily invariant fails?
Ops is alerted within minutes. Depending on which invariant, deposits and withdrawals can be auto-paused while you investigate. The platform never silently absorbs a drift.
Investors, KYC, and referrals
What KYC tiers does the platform support?
Tiered KYC out of the box: email-only for a configurable lifetime cap, then ID and selfie for higher limits. You set the thresholds. KYC provider integration (ID document + liveness) is scoped per operator.
Is there a referral engine?
Yes. Two-level commission, first-deposit bonus funded from the operator's marketing budget (never skimmed from the new investor's deposit), abuse detection on same-IP, same-device, same-wallet.
Can I run private or invite-only cohorts?
Yes. Beta tester allowlist mode is built in, and you can run waitlists, invite codes, and tier gating per pool.
Trust and exit
How is this different from an HYIP?
An HYIP pays old investors out of new deposits, with no real economic activity underneath. ShareFund only credits investor profit after an admin enters a real settlement, and the daily invariants make drift impossible to hide. The full breakdown is on the Why ShareFund page.
What if ShareFund itself goes away?
Investor funds are not at ShareFund. They are in your wallet or your payment processor, under your keys and your credentials, and they stay there if our software stops running. The append-only ledger is exportable at any time, so you keep a full account-by-account record you could carry to another stack or to your own accountant.
Can I migrate my tenant off ShareFund later?
Yes. The contract includes a data export clause. You receive a full ledger dump, member directory, and balance snapshot in standard formats. Operator owns the data, always.
What about regulatory and tax obligations?
Those are owned by the operator. ShareFund is a platform vendor, not a counterparty to your investors. You decide the licensing posture, the jurisdiction, the disclosures, and the tax treatment. We provide the rails and the audit trail you need to support whatever stance you take.
